Cookie preferences

Which cookies this site sets, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how to change what you allow.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. It lets the site recognise the same browser between pages and visits. This notice also covers technologies that work like cookies: local storage, session storage and pixels. It sits alongside our privacy centre, which explains what we do with any personal data involved.

2. How consent works here

Only strictly necessary cookies are set when you arrive. Nothing else is set until you choose. The banner offers acceptance and rejection with equal prominence, refusing is one click, and there is no cookie wall: the site works fully whether you accept or not. Your choice is recorded for six months, after which we ask again. Changing your mind takes effect immediately.

3. Strictly necessary

These keep the site working and cannot be switched off. They do not require consent, because without them the service you asked for cannot be delivered:

  • Session cookie: keeps a booking in progress together across pages. Expires when you close the browser
  • Locale preference: remembers whether you chose English or Spanish. Twelve months
  • Consent record: stores the cookie choice you made, so we do not ask again on every page. Six months
  • Security tokens: protect forms against cross-site request forgery. Session only

4. Analytics

Off until you allow them. They tell us, in aggregate, which pages are used and where people give up, so we know what to fix. We do not use them to identify you, we do not combine them with your booking record, and IP addresses are truncated before storage. Retention is 14 months, after which the data is deleted.

5. Advertising and tracking

We do not set advertising cookies on this site, we do not embed third-party tracking pixels, and we do not take part in real-time bidding or cross-site profiling. If that ever changes, this notice will be updated before any such cookie is set, and your consent will be asked for separately.

6. Third parties

Some cookies can only be set by services we rely on. Today those are limited to our hosting and content delivery provider, which sets short-lived cookies for routing and abuse prevention, and our payment provider, which sets cookies on its own payment pages for fraud prevention. Fonts are served from our own domain, so no third-party font cookie is set.

7. Changing your mind

Use the cookie settings on this page at any time, or clear cookies for this site in your browser. Rejecting analytics does not reduce functionality. Blocking strictly necessary cookies in your browser will break bookings, because the site can no longer keep the steps of a reservation together.

8. Browser signals

We honour Global Privacy Control. Where your browser sends that signal, analytics stay off and we record the refusal without asking again. We do not act on the older Do Not Track header, because it was never given an agreed meaning, but GPC covers the same ground.

9. Local storage

We use a small amount of browser storage to remember interface state — the language you are reading in, and whether you have dismissed a notice. It never holds personal data, it is readable only by this site, and clearing your browser data removes it.

10. Questions

Write to ARK PLATFORMS, EUROPE LIMITED at the address in the legal notice, marking your message for the attention of privacy. Complaints may also be made to the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom or to the data protection authority where you live.
