About
About Averton
A European hotel group of ten brands, built house by house since 2023 — and run on the principle that service should arrive before the request.
The group
One house, then another, then a standard.
Averton began in 2023 with a single building in Madrid that nobody wanted: a 1910 townhouse with good bones, bad wiring and a courtyard buried under forty years of storage. We restored what was there instead of replacing it rather than start again, and opened with ninety-six rooms.
What worked in Madrid turned out to be portable — not the furniture or the façade, but the way the house was run. Small teams. Short menus. Decisions taken in the building rather than at a head office two countries away.
Three years and ten brands later, that is still the only thing every Averton house has in common. A Porter in a business district and a Seren above the calanques share no architecture and no price bracket. They share a service standard, a booking system, and one loyalty programme.

History
Three years, house by house.
2023
Averton Madrid
The first house. Ninety-six rooms in a 1910 building, a team of forty, and a courtyard dug back out.
2024
The second market
Lisbon opens, and the playbook survives its first translation — minus the parts that only worked in Spanish.
2024
Élan and Seren
Two brands split off the flagship: one design-led, one adults only. The service standard stays shared.
2025
Averton Circle
One programme across every brand, with points that mean the same thing everywhere.
2025
Collections open
Haven and Origin bring in independent houses that keep their own name and their own kitchen.
2026
Ten brands
Business, lifestyle, adults only, select service and residences — one standard behind all of them.
How we run
Four rules we do not bend.
We measure luxury in what you never have to ask for.
- 01
The house decides
Rates, menus and hiring are set in the building. The group supplies systems and capital, not instructions about the breakfast.
- 02
Nobody works alone at night
Every house keeps at least two people on the floor overnight, whatever its size or category.
- 03
We publish what we get wrong
Guest ratings, accessibility gaps and emissions are reported as they are, not as we would like them.
- 04
Local first, then cheaper
Suppliers are chosen within the region before they are chosen on price, and reviewed in that order.
Responsibility
What we have committed to, and where we are.
9 of 10 brands
Buildings, not new builds
Nine of our ten brands operate in restored buildings. Restoration emits a fraction of what new construction does.
100% renewable
Energy
Every house on a certified renewable contract, with on-site generation where the roof allows.
Removed
Single-use plastics
Removed from rooms, restaurants and back of house. Amenities are refillable and made regionally.
Within 150 km
Food
Short menus, bought within the region, with what is not served that day going to local kitchens.
Figures are reported annually and audited from 2025 onwards.
How we are organised
Who decides what.
The group is deliberately thin. Four functions sit centrally; everything else belongs to the house.
House directors
One per house. Owns the rooms, the team, the restaurant and the guest relationship. Reports on results, not on method.
Brand direction
Keeps each of the ten brands distinct: what it promises, who it is for, what it never does.
Development
Finds buildings and owners, and turns down more than it takes. Two openings a year is the ceiling, not the target.
Group services
Booking systems, Averton Circle, finance and people. Supports the houses; does not run them.
In their words
What people write after they leave.
Service that arrives before the request. Three nights, and nothing asked twice.
Marta Ibáñez
Condé Nast Traveller
Sober architecture, precise hospitality. Averton understands that luxury is silence, well managed.
Daniel Ortiz
Monocle
We came back for the restaurant and stayed for the house. Few places care this much about small things.
Claire Dubois
Guest since 2023
For owners
Bringing a house into the group.
We take on two houses a year: management agreements, or entry into the Haven and Origin collections for owners who want to keep their own name. We look at the building, the market and the team already in place — in that order.
Talk to developmentCareers
Work in a house, not in a chain.
Small teams mean visible work: what you do is noticed by the people who stay. We hire for judgement and train everything else.
